Overview

Using social media and other tools to connect yourself to educators from around the world is an effective way to grow professionally. During this session we will explore how web-based tools can enhance your personal learning network (PLN) and facilitate connections with educators worldwide.

Learning Outcomes

After this session, BOOTCAMP 2013 participants will be able to:
  • identify collaborative tools that will help them establish and grown their PLN

Why do I need a Professional Learning Network? | 30min

The rapid pace of technology innovation challenges us, as educators, to stay abreast of new tools and techniques. Connecting yourself to other education professionals through some of the tools we discuss today will help you stay current and will provide you with opportunities to collaborate with educators from around the world. We will briefly look at Twitter, a tool that will help you as you grow your PLN.
